The Ethereum Name Service is a blockchain based decentralised naming standard. ENS is, among other things, a decentralised uncensorable alternative to DNS.
When I decided to leverage the power of NFTs and Web3 for Voyages, it was clear to me that I would integrate ENS into the Voyages experience.
Anyone who owns a Voyages NFT gets to choose their own [yournamehere].Voyages.eth ENS.
My hope is that your Voyages Subdomain becomes your home on Ethereum for all things travel, adventure and art.
I’ve been following the ENS project for a long while now and am inspired by their ideals. Fun fact: ENS ‘NFTs’ predate CryptoPunks. In fact some of the first people I followed on cryptotwitter were ENS devs and I don’t remember who, but one of them had a CP as their PFP and that inspired to me buy my first.
But how exactly will I get my [Name].Voyages.eth ENS NFT?
I’ve spoken to a few ENS devs over the years but I can’t seem to find a way to do this in a permission-less way. So its seems like at least initially I will have to mint yours by hand and ‘deliver’ it to you by pointing the [name].Voyages.eth subdomain controller to your 0x address of choice. 0xAllen has a project called DotEarth that has executed ENS integration admirably.
Initially, only wallets holding Voyages NFTs will be able to mint a [Name].Voyages.eth subdomain but ideally I’d like to open this up to anyone who understands what Voyages stands for and would like their own Voyages.eth subdomain.
So for now, as you will see in the MINT section of this website, when you reach step 3 of the Friendly Mint process, in addition to sending me the Voyages ID of the one(s) you want, you can also indicate your preferred [MAKEITYOURS].Voyages.eth ENS subdomain so I can reserve it for you.
If you are reading this and have a better idea for how to do it, please do reach out on twitter DM.
