Found Voyages

Found Voyages is a blog, a scrapbook, a collection of thoughts, images and found objects that each reflect the Voyages ethos. From 2012, I have been collecting Found Voyages and storing them in word documents, notes and emails.

Something is ‘Found Voyages’ when it reflects in some interesting way (big or small) what Voyages stands for.

The next time you come across something that is Found Voyages, please send it to me via twitter DM, I’ll post it here!

This John Berger quote from @startingfromnix is Found Voyages. Voyages is my attempt at understanding life. The photographs in Voyages were taken to try and discover meaning and purpose in a life of incessant travel.

Eddie Vedder’s beautiful instrumental song Photographs is Found Voyages.

The following quote from the artist Ambadas is Found Voyages because it speaks to the universality of the artistic journey.

“…So where do I start & what have I to refer to and guide myself? It is not I who live, it lived me! In the matrix of the real, the artist's intentions play no part. I paint, repaint and paint all over & for hours in order to be one with, & be that - I paint non-stop…”

– Ambadas

“All movement is worship” This twitter post by Paul Salopek is Found Voyages. Link to the Oliver Uberti article is here

Paul himself is Found Voyages! He is currently on an incredible Voyage walking 24,000 miles across the globe. You can follow along here.

Taus Machadeva aka Super Taus is Found Voyages! I always have a hard time describing how much I love her practice.

Here is the link to the Jameel show where I first discovered her.

The woman holding up the SuperTaus poster is my dear friend and inspiration Suze. In many ways Suze is SuperTaus and SuperTaus is Suze.

I was able to grab about 10 of these posters at the show (they were given out for free) and I’ve been gifting them to people I love and admire.

I might have to stop though because I’m down to my last 3!

OZ OZ

This desert in a martini glass is Found voyages. One of our crew made banoffee pie at home, then spooned helpings into these glasses in the Galley and fed us all during the flight. It was the sweetest thing - pun intended! A little slice of home, a moment of sharing something created with love by hand… but with a complete stranger who I will probably never see again.
